Product Specific Information
This antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
PIP5K1A (phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase 1 alpha) is a lipid kinase that phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate to form phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate.
It is required for Wnt3a-induced LRP6 phosphorylation at ser1490 in mammalian cells. Wnt3a stimulates phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate formation through frizzled and disheveled, which directly interact with and activate PIP5K1A.
PIP5K1A-mediated PIP(2) production is crucial for HIV-1 entry and early infection steps in permissive lymphocytes. Overexpression of wild-type PI4P5K1A enhances HIV-1 Env-mediated PIP(2) production and viral replication in primary lymphocytes.
