Antibody detects endogenous levels of LKB1 only when phosphorylated at Threonine 189.
Target Information
LKB1 (also known as STK11 - Serine/threonine-protein kinase STK11) is a member of the serine/threonine kinase family and functions as a tumor suppressor.
It physically associates with p53 and regulates specific p53-dependent apoptosis pathways.
LKB1 is localized in both the cytoplasm and nucleus and translocates to mitochondria during apoptosis.
Acts as a master upstream kinase regulating AMPK and AMPK-related kinases.
Mutations in the LKB1 gene are associated with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome.
