Target Information
Corticotropin-releasing factor receptor 1 (CRFR1/CRHR1) is involved in mediating stress response and anxiety-related behaviors. Mutations may reduce anxiety-related behaviors and contribute to Cushing disease pathogenesis. Multiple isoforms are produced via alternative splicing.
CRFR1 is expressed in pituitary, adrenal gland, brain, colon, ovary, placenta, testis, white blood cells, and skin. ESTs have been isolated from human brain, eye, colon, and embryo libraries.
