Product Specific Information
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Immunoglobulin classes share a basic structure of four polypeptide chains: two heavy chains (five types) and two light chains (kappa or lambda, each with a molecular weight of approximately 22.5 kDa).
Kappa and lambda chains consist of variable and constant regions and can be differentiated by the antigenic properties of their constant regions.
The normal ratio of kappa to lambda is approximately 70:30.
Antibodies to the kappa light chain are useful in identifying leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.
Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates that the infiltrate is clonal and therefore malignant.
