Transcription factor involved in regulation of organogenesis.
Acts as a regulator of SIX1, SIX6, and possibly SIX5.
Switches SIX1-mediated repression to coactivation through recruitment of EYA3 to the SIX1-DACH1 complex.
Transcriptional activation involves association with CREBBP.
Acts as a corepressor of SIX6 by repressing cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors such as p27Kip1.
Inhibits TGF-beta signaling via interaction with SMAD4 and NCOR1.
Binds chromatin DNA through its DACHbox-N domain.
