Target Information
DACH1 is a transcription factor involved in the regulation of organogenesis. It regulates SIX1, SIX6, and possibly SIX5.
In myoblast precursor cells, DACH1 switches SIX1-mediated corepression to coactivation through recruitment of EYA3 to the SIX1-DACH1 complex.
Transcriptional activation also involves association with CREBBP.
DACH1 acts as a corepressor of SIX6 by repressing cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors, including the p27Kip1 promoter.
It inhibits TGF-β signaling via interaction with SMAD4 and NCOR1 and binds chromatin DNA via its DACHbox-N domain.
