Product Specific Information

The eBioMWReg30 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD41 (fibrinogen receptor, gpIIb, integrin alpha IIb). CD41, initially known to be expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes, is also found on hematopoietic progenitors in embryos, fetuses, and adults. CD41 forms a receptor with CD61 (gpIIIa, integrin beta III) that mediates platelet function and adhesion molecule binding (fibrinogen, fibronectin, vitronectin).

Recent studies show that CD150+CD48-CD41- expression identifies hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) with high efficiency for long-term multi-lineage reconstitution.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, ELISA.
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse platelets, ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.

Target Information

CD41 (platelet glycoprotein IIb, ITGA2B) consists of two subunits (α: 120 kDa, β: 23 kDa) that interact with CD61 in the presence of calcium to form a functional receptor. CD41 mediates platelet aggregation and binds to von Willebrand factor, fibrinogen, fibronectin, and vitronectin upon vessel damage. Expressed in megakaryocyte-platelet lineage and early hematopoietic differentiation stages.
