Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody ALY7 recognizes mouse LYVE-1, a transmembrane glycoprotein similar to CD44. Its extracellular domain contains a conserved hyaluronan-binding region. LYVE-1 is expressed on lymphatic and liver endothelial cells and some macrophages.

The lymphatic system transports proteins and immune cells throughout the body. LYVE-1, along with podoplanin, PROX-1, Tie-2, and VEGFR-3, is a key marker of lymphatic endothelial cells. The ligand for LYVE-1 is hyaluronan, a large mucopolysaccharide. In vivo binding may require unmasking of glycan chains to expose the binding site.

Target Information

LYVE1 is a major receptor for hyaluronan (HA) on lymph vessel walls. It encodes a 322-residue type I integral membrane protein with a 212-residue extracellular domain containing a single Link module, similar to CD44.

Unlike CD44, LYVE1 localizes exclusively on lymph vessels, absent from blood vessels, making it a specific marker for lymphatic endothelium. It regulates leukocyte and tumor cell trafficking to lymph nodes.
