Target Information
This gene encodes a multifunctional protein that binds ubiquitin and regulates activation of the nuclear factor kappa-B signaling pathway. It acts as a scaffolding/adaptor protein with TNF receptor-associated factor 6 to mediate NF-kB activation. Mutations in this gene cause sporadic and familial Paget disease of bone.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding similar or different isoforms have been identified.
