Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) is a 45 kDa homodimeric, disulfide-linked glycoprotein involved in angiogenesis, promoting tumor progression and metastasis.
VEGF affects vascular endothelium by promoting endothelial cell viability, mitogenesis, chemotaxis, and vascular permeability.
The VEGF family includes VEGF-A, VEGF-B, VEGF-C, VEGF-D, VEGF-E, and PIGF. VEGF and its receptors (VEGFR-1/FLT-1, VEGFR-2/FLK-1/KDR) are fundamental regulators of angiogenesis signaling.

Most tumors require angiogenesis, and VEGF is a key angiogenic cytokine in this process. Five VEGF isoforms result from alternative splicing of a single VEGF gene, each binding to tyrosine kinase receptors expressed mainly on endothelial cells.
A soluble form of FLT1 (sFLT1) binds VEGF with high affinity and inhibits angiogenesis. Elevated VEGF levels are associated with POEMS (Crow-Fukase) syndrome, a multisystem disorder.
