Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 촉매 효소로, 37 kDa의 동일한 소단위체 4개로 구성된 사량체 형태로 존재합니다.
이 효소는 NADPH 존재하에 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 가역적으로 환원시킵니다.
GAPDH는 해당과정 외에도 DNA 복제, 수선, RNA 수출, 막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다. 또한, 세포 사멸(apoptosis), 노화 관련 신경퇴행성 질환, 암세포 내 신경세포 사멸 등에서도 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
GAPDH는 amyloid precursor protein (알츠하이머병 관련), Huntingtin (헌팅턴병 관련) 등 다양한 단백질과 결합하는 것으로 알려져 있으며, actin 및 tubulin과의 상호작용도 보고되었습니다. 대부분의 조직에서 높은 수준으로 발현되므로, Western blot 분석에서 단백질 로딩 컨트롤로 널리 사용됩니다.
