The YKIX302.9 monoclonal antibody reacts with canine CD4, a surface receptor expressed on thymocytes, mature T cells, dendritic cells, and neutrophils.
CD4 binds MHC class II molecules and is critical for T-cell development and homeostasis.

This antibody has been shown to block MHC II-restricted T cell responses both in vivo and in vitro.

Target Information

The CD4 antigen is a co-receptor for MHC class II molecules and plays a key role in T-cell activation. It is primarily expressed on T helper cells but can also be found on monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.

At the tissue level, CD4 expression is detected in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain regions of brain and gut.
CD4 interacts with the T-cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase Lck, initiating T-cell activation and immune signaling.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified for the CD4 gene (RefSeq, July 2017).
