Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Follistatin. Anti-Human Follistatin-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human Follistatin matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human Follistatin by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human Follistatin (500-P207Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human Follistatin.

Western Blot:
To detect Human Follistatin by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human Follistatin is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Follistatin is a single-chain gonadal protein that specifically inhibits follicle-stimulating hormone release. The single FST gene encodes two isoforms, FST317 and FST344, containing 317 and 344 amino acids respectively, resulting from alternative splicing of the precursor mRNA. In a study of 37 candidate genes tested for linkage and association with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or hyperandrogenemia in 150 families, evidence was found for linkage between PCOS and follistatin.
