Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure recombinant Human Follistatin. Anti-Human Follistatin-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and subsequently biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human Follistatin by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. When paired with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human Follistatin (500-P207) as the capture antibody, it enables detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of recombinant Human Follistatin.

Western Blot:
For Western blot detection of Human Follistatin, use 0.1–0.2 mg/mL. With compatible detection reagents, the limit of detection is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Follistatin is a single-chain gonadal protein that specifically inhibits follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) release. The single FST gene encodes two isoforms, FST317 and FST344, containing 317 and 344 amino acids respectively, produced by alternative splicing of the precursor mRNA.
Studies have shown genetic linkage between Follistatin and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or hyperandrogenemia in certain populations.
