Target Information
Sm-like proteins were identified in various organisms based on sequence homology with the Sm protein family (see SNRPD2). These proteins contain the Sm sequence motif with two conserved regions separated by a variable linker loop. Sm-like proteins form stable heteromers in tri-snRNP particles, which are essential for pre-mRNA splicing.
