Target Information
PAK4 is a serine/threonine p21 activating kinase involved in actin cytoskeleton reorganization and filopodia formation.
It belongs to the second group of PAK proteins (PAK4, 5, and 6), which are not activated by Cdc42/Rac binding.
PAK4 acts as an effector of Cdc42Hs, inducing filopodia and actin polymerization, and plays key roles in embryonic viability and neuronal development.
It is also associated with anchorage-independent tumor cell growth and activation of cancer prosurvival pathways.
