Caldesmon은 평활근 및 비근육 수축에 관여하는 발달 조절 단백질입니다. 인간 Caldesmon에는 전기영동 이동도와 세포 분포가 다른 두 가지 변이가 존재합니다. h-Caldesmon(120–150 kDa)은 주로 평활근에서, l-Caldesmon(70–80 kDa)은 비근육 조직과 세포에서 발현됩니다. 두 변이 모두 골격근에서는 검출되지 않았습니다.
