NIP1 (BNIP1)은 BCL2/adenovirus E1B 19 kDa-interacting protein (BNIP) 계열의 구성원으로, 바이러스 유도 세포사멸을 억제하는 E1B 19 kDa 단백질 및 BCL2와 상호작용합니다. 이 유전자의 대체 스플라이싱으로 알려지지 않은 기능의 네 가지 전사 변형체가 생성됩니다. BNIP1 전사 변형체는 유전자의 전체 코딩 영역을 포함하며, 세포자멸사 유도와 관련된 BH3 도메인을 보유하고 있습니다.
