Antibody detects endogenous levels of Cytokeratin 17 only when phosphorylated at Tyr98.
Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight between approximately 40 kDa and 68 kDa and isoelectric pH between 4.9 and 7.8.
Human cytokeratins are numbered 1 to 20. Expression patterns vary by epithelial type and differentiation stage. Cytokeratin subtype profiles are useful in distinguishing epithelial malignancies.
Cytokeratin antibodies assist in tumor differential diagnosis using immunohistochemistry and are also valuable tools in cytopathology and flow cytometry assays.
