Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of TIE2 only when phosphorylated at Tyr897.
Target Information
The TEK receptor tyrosine kinase (TIE2) is expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells. TEK signaling is essential for endothelial cell–smooth muscle cell communication during venous morphogenesis. Defects in TEK are linked to inherited venous malformations. Angiopoietin-1 binds to TEK and mediates signaling critical for embryonic vascular development. TIE2 expression is upregulated by thyroid-stimulating hormone and cAMP-elevating agents. Hematopoietic stem cells expressing TIE2 are quiescent, anti-apoptotic, and adhere to osteoblasts in the bone marrow niche.
