Preparation:

Sandwich ELISA:

• In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine RELMβ (500-P215) as a capture antibody
• Detection limit: 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine RELMβ

Adipose tissue serves as a tightly regulated energy reserve in animals, secreting various physiologically important proteins such as lipoprotein lipase (LPL), leptin, Acrp30, perilipin, and resistin.
Resistin (also known as Adipocyte Secreted Factor, ADSF, or FIZZ3) is a cytokine secreted by adipocytes and has been implicated in insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
Studies indicate that obese, diabetic mice have elevated serum resistin levels, which antagonize insulin action.
Resistin gene expression requires C/EBPα, with coactivators CBP and p300 facilitating histone acetylation at the resistin promoter, enhancing transcriptional activation.
PPARγ and RXR ligands have been shown to downregulate resistin expression in adipocytes.
