Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure recombinant Rat SCF. Anti-Rat SCF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat SCF by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Rat SCF (500-P202) as a capture antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat SCF.

Western Blot:
To detect Rat SCF by Western blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. In conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Rat SCF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Stem cell factor (SCF) is the ligand of the c-Kit oncogene and is expressed by various structural and inflammatory cells in the airways. Binding of SCF to the c-Kit receptor induces receptor homodimerization and activation of signaling pathways such as PI-3, PLC-γ, Jak/STAT, and MAP kinase. SCF expression promotes mast cell survival and the release of histamine, cytokines, and chemokines. Inhibition of the SCF/c-Kit pathway reduces histamine levels, mast cell and eosinophil infiltration, IL-4 production, and airway hyperresponsiveness, suggesting a potential therapeutic target for inflammatory diseases such as asthma. At least two isoforms of SCF are known to exist.
