Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information

Phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C (PLC) plays a key role in receptor-mediated signal transduction by generating second messengers inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate and diacylglycerol from phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate.

Mammalian PLC isozymes include:

  • PLCβ1, PLCβ2, PLCβ3, PLCβ4
  • PLCγ1, PLCγ2
  • PLCδ1, PLCδ2
  • PLCε

PLCδ1 acts as a calcium signal amplifier and is activated by atypical GTP-binding proteins. It is highly expressed in brain, heart, lung, and testis, and has been associated with Alzheimer’s disease pathology. PLCδ2 expression is linked to gastric malignant transformation and may serve as a marker for neoplastic progression.
