Product Specific Information
The eBio64DEC17 antibody reacts with human IL-17A and is a neutralizing antibody.
Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.
Human IL-17A exists as glycosylated 20–30 kD homodimers and enhances expression of ICAM-1 in fibroblasts. It stimulates epithelial, endothelial, or fibroblastic cells to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2, and supports CD34+ progenitor proliferation and neutrophil maturation.
IL-23-dependent, IL-17A-producing CD4+ T cells (Th-17 cells) represent a distinct subset from Th1 and Th2 cells. IFN-γ and IL-4 negatively regulate Th-17 cell generation.
Intracellular staining by eBio64DEC17 identifies the same population as eBio64CAP17.
Pre-titrated for intracellular flow cytometric analysis at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (final volume 100 µL).
Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test (empirically determined).

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
IL-17A is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer (136 amino acids), signaling through the IL-17 receptor (IL-17R/CDw217).
It regulates NF-κB and MAPK activities, stimulates IL-6 and COX-2 expression, and enhances nitric oxide production.
