Product Specific Information

Specificity: The antibody is specific to human DR5 and does not bind other TRAIL receptors, other members of the TNF-receptor superfamily, or the murine homolog of DR5.

Target Information

DR5 (Apo2, TRAIL-R2, TRICK2, KILLER) is a death domain-containing receptor for TRAIL, mediating TRAIL-induced apoptosis. It belongs to the TNF-receptor superfamily and contains an intracellular death domain. Activation by TNFSF10/TRAIL/APO-2L transduces apoptosis signals. FADD-deficient mouse studies indicate FADD is essential for DR5-mediated apoptosis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms and one non-coding transcript exist. Overexpression of DR5 induces apoptosis and activates NF-kappa-B. DR5 is expressed in various cell types, with high levels in lymphocytes and spleen. DR5 dysfunction is linked to squamous cell carcinoma and diffuse infiltrative lymphocytosis syndrome.
