Target Information
CDK2/cyclinO is a member of the cyclin-dependent protein kinase family complexed with CyclinO. CyclinO is a specific protein isoform of the UNG gene, localized in the nucleus, and exhibits uracil-DNA glycosylase activity. CDK2/cyclinO protein levels increase during the G1 phase and are regulated throughout the cell cycle. Cyclin A–CDK2 levels peak at the G1/S transition, where both are associated with DNA in the replication initiation complex. Rb protein acts as a substrate for CDK2–Cyclin E and/or CDK2–Cyclin A in vivo. CDK2 is activated and localized to the nucleus during late G1, S, and G2 phases.
