• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
• For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
• Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid; dilute only prior to immediate use.
• In ELISA and other immunoreactive assays, this antibody recognizes both native and recombinant mouse IL17-F in cell supernatants and certain body fluids.
• A control of similarly diluted normal rabbit IgG is recommended.

Target Information

IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8) is a cytokine belonging to the IL-17 family produced by inflammatory cells such as activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils.
It is involved in allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules in bronchial epithelial cells, vein endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and eosinophils.
IL-17F may be secreted as a homodimer or heterodimer with IL17A, acting via IL-17R to recruit monocytes and neutrophils to inflammation sites.
It stimulates TNFα, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 production and is implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
TGF-β and IL-23 are required for induction and maintenance of Th17 cells, which produce IL-17 cytokines.
IL-17F inhibits endothelial cell angiogenesis and induces production of IL2, TGFB1/TGFB, and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1.
