• Store vial at -20°C prior to opening.
• Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage.
• Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
• Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody reacts with endogenous NAG-1 protein from mouse and human tissues.
A BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with NAG-1 from mouse and rat (100% and 97% homology, respectively), and with Chinese hamster (92% homology).
Cross-reactivity with NAG-1 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

GDF-15 belongs to the TGF-beta cytokine family, which plays an important role in prenatal development, postnatal growth, and tissue remodeling.
It is predominantly expressed in the placenta and to a lesser extent in other tissues.
Elevated levels of GDF-15 in the sera of pregnant women suggest involvement in gestation and embryonic development.
GDF-15 generally exerts tumor suppressive activities and is produced in response to p53 pathway activation.
Serum GDF-15 levels correlate with neoplastic progression in certain colorectal, pancreatic, and prostate cancers.
