Annexin I belongs to a family of Ca²⁺-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins located on the cytosolic face of the plasma membrane.
It has a molecular mass of 40 kDa and exhibits phospholipase A2 inhibitory activity, potentially contributing to anti-inflammatory effects by reducing prostaglandin and leukotriene biosynthesis.
