Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with Monkey, Pig, Dog, and Bovine.
Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They combine multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing polyclonal-like sensitivity and monoclonal-like specificity with consistent lot-to-lot reproducibility.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitope sites, improving detection of low-abundance targets. Each lot is produced from a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, eliminating biological variability typical of polyclonal production.
Note: Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody”, now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody”. The physical product and performance remain unchanged.
Target Information
Telomerase is a ribonucleoprotein polymerase that maintains telomere ends by adding TTAGGG repeats. It consists of a protein component with reverse transcriptase activity (encoded by TERT) and an RNA template component.
Telomerase expression is normally repressed in somatic cells, leading to telomere shortening and cellular senescence. Dysregulation may contribute to oncogenesis. Studies suggest telomerase also aids chromosomal repair via de novo telomere synthesis at double-stranded breaks.
Alternative splicing of TERT generates multiple isoforms, serving as a regulatory mechanism for telomerase activity.
