Target Information
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)은 EGF 수용체(EGFR, 170 kDa protein kinase)에 결합하여 작용합니다. EGFR 활성화는 다양한 세포 신호 경로를 유도하며, 수용체는 동종 또는 이종 이합체를 형성하여 서로 다른 SH2 도메인을 가진 단백질을 모집합니다. EGF는 신장, 뇌, 전립선, 침샘 등에서 광범위하게 발현되며 강력한 세포 증식 인자로 작용합니다. 인산화된 수용체는 GRB2와 같은 어댑터 단백질을 모집하여 RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK, PI3K-AKT, PLCγ-PKC, STAT 등의 주요 신호 경로를 활성화합니다. 또한 NF-κB 신호 경로 활성화에도 관여할 수 있습니다. EGF 유전자 결함은 저마그네슘혈증 4형의 원인이며, 발현 이상은 특정 암의 성장 및 진행과 관련이 있습니다.
