Target Information
EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor)는 EGF 수용체(EGFR, 170 kDa protein kinase)에 결합하여 다양한 세포 신호 경로를 활성화합니다. EGFR은 다른 수용체와 호모 또는 헤테로다이머를 형성하며, 각각의 복합체는 서로 다른 SH2 도메인 단백질을 모집하여 고유한 신호 경로를 유도합니다.
EGF는 신장, 뇌, 전립선, 침샘 등 다양한 조직에서 발현되며 강력한 세포 증식 인자로 작용합니다. 인산화된 수용체는 GRB2와 같은 어댑터 단백질을 모집하여 RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK, PI3K-AKT, PLCγ-PKC, STAT 등 주요 신호전달 경로를 활성화합니다. 또한 NF-κB 신호 경로에도 관여할 수 있는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
EGF 유전자 결함은 저마그네슘혈증 4형과 관련이 있으며, 발현 이상은 특정 암의 성장 및 진행과 연관이 있습니다.
