Target Information

ROS1 is a tyrosine kinase that functions as a growth or differentiation factor receptor. Protein kinases transfer a phosphate group from ATP to substrate proteins, mediating signal transduction in eukaryotic cells. They regulate processes such as metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement, movement, apoptosis, and differentiation.
The protein kinase family includes over 500 gene products and is divided into eight major groups based on catalytic domain sequence. The tyrosine kinase (TK) group primarily regulates cell-cell interactions, including differentiation, adhesion, motility, and death. Approximately 90 TK genes have been sequenced, comprising 58 receptor TKs (e.g., EGFR, EPH, FGFR, PDGFR, TRK, VEGFR) and 32 cytosolic TKs (e.g., ABL, FAK, JAK, SRC).
