Product Specific Information
- PA1-015 detects human and mouse carboxyl terminus of hsc70-interacting protein (CHIP).
- Successfully used in Western blot procedures, detecting an ~35 kDa CHIP protein and a non-specific band at ~85 kDa from COS-1 cells.
- Validated in Western blot analysis using human MCF7 cell lysates.
- Immunogen peptide (Cat. # PEP-179) is available for neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
Carboxyl terminus of hsc70-interacting protein (CHIP) interacts with both constitutive hsc70 and inducible hsp70. This 35 kDa cytoplasmic protein is highly expressed in striated muscle and widely distributed in cultured tissues. CHIP binds to the carboxyl terminus of hsc70/hsp70, decreasing ATPase activity and chaperone efficiency. It also functions as an E3 ubiquitin-ligase within the ubiquitin-proteasome system through its U-box domain.
