Product Specific Information

This 22F6 monoclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and canine Helios.
Helios is a zinc-finger transcription factor similar to Ikaros, expressed in hematopoietic stem cells and regulatory T cells, but not in mature B cells, dendritic cells, or myeloid cells.
It can form homodimers or heterodimers with other Ikaros family members to regulate transcription.

Eight isoforms exist, some with dominant-negative functions, upregulated in lymphoid malignancies such as T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
22F6 has been reported to cross-react with rat Helios.

Applications Reported: Intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested for intracellular staining of mouse lymph node cells using Foxp3/Transcription Factor Buffer Set (Product # 00-5523-00).

Target Information

Helios belongs to the Ikaros family of zinc-finger proteins (Ikaros, Aiolos, Helios).
These transcription factors regulate lymphocyte development and form homo-/heterodimers to function in early hematopoietic development.
Multiple transcript variants exist, though biological validity of some remains undetermined.
