This antibody specifically targets the non-signalling alpha chain of the FceR1 complex.
Target Information
FceR1 (Fc epsilonR1 alpha) is a subunit of the high-affinity receptor for IgE. It forms a tetrameric complex consisting of one alpha, one beta, and two additional subunits required for signal transduction. The Fc epsilonR1 complex plays a key role in triggering allergic responses. When allergen-bound IgE molecules cross-link multiple receptors, mediators such as histamine are released, initiating inflammatory responses typical of allergies such as hay fever and asthma. The release of histamine and proteases induces synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, which are potent effectors of hypersensitivity reactions.
