Target Information
The HOXC10 gene belongs to the homeobox family of genes, which encode a conserved family of transcription factors essential for morphogenesis in multicellular organisms. Mammals possess four similar homeobox gene clusters (HOXA, HOXB, HOXC, and HOXD), each located on different chromosomes and consisting of 9–11 tandemly arranged genes. HOXC10 is part of the HOXC cluster on chromosome 12. Its protein expression is regulated during cell differentiation and proliferation, suggesting a role in origin activation.
