The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Myc regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation involves a family of related transcription factors. One such factor, Max, forms heterodimers with proteins such as Mad1, Mxi1, Mad3, and Mad4, leading to transcriptional repression. Both Myc and Mad proteins have short half-lives and are tightly regulated, while Max expression is constitutive and stable. Mammalian cDNAs encoding Mad-binding proteins (mSin3A and mSin3B) interact with Mad proteins through the PAH2 domain, suggesting that Mad-Max heterodimers repress transcription by tethering mSin3 to DNA as corepressors.
