The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
NIMA was first identified in Aspergillus nidulans as essential for mitotic entry. Mammalian NIMA-related kinases include Nek1, Nek2, Nek3, and Nek4 (also known as STK2 or NRK2).
- Nek1 shows high expression in male and female germ cell lines of mouse.
- Nek2, the closest mammalian homolog to NIMA, peaks at the G2/M transition.
- Nek3 is a cytoplasmic enzyme detected in all organs studied, with levels stable across the cell cycle but elevated in G0-arrested fibroblasts.
- Differential expression patterns of Nek1, Nek2, and Nek4 in developing testicular germ cells suggest overlapping but distinct functions.
