For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

COX2 converts arachidonate to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2), a key step in prostanoid synthesis including inflammatory prostaglandins.
The conversion occurs via two reactions:

1. Cyclooxygenase (COX) reaction converting arachidonate to prostaglandin G2 (PGG2)
2. Peroxidase reaction reducing PGG2 to PGH2

COX2 is constitutively expressed in tissues such as endothelium, kidney, and brain, and is up-regulated under pathological conditions like cancer and inflammation.
Up-regulation of COX2 is associated with increased cell adhesion, phenotypic changes, resistance to apoptosis, and tumor angiogenesis.
In cancer cells, COX2 facilitates the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), influencing motility, proliferation, and apoptosis resistance.
COX2 activity is naturally inhibited by calcitriol (active Vitamin D), and glucocorticoids repress PTGS2 gene activity by interfering with transcription processes.
COX2 is a target of NSAIDs such as aspirin, which reduce pain and inflammation.
