- Overnight incubation with clone 44H6 is recommended for optimal results.
- The epitope recognized by this antibody is sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing; acetone fixation is recommended for frozen sections.
- Suggested positive control for IHC: human tonsil.
- For FACS analysis: use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
Target Information
Integrin alpha 4 (CD49d / ITGA4) is a member of the integrin alpha chain family. Integrins are heterodimeric membrane proteins composed of alpha and beta chains. Alpha4 associates with beta1 or beta7 chains. The ligand-binding sites of integrin alpha4β1 and alpha4β7 are located on the alpha4 chain, with ligands including Madcam, VCAM, and fibronectin. Madcam is the principal ligand for alpha4β7. HIV-1 envelope can mimic Madcam by binding and signaling through integrin alpha4β7, the gut mucosal homing receptor for peripheral T cells.
