Target Information
CD98 (4F2) is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein that serves as the heavy chain of heterodimeric amino acid transporters (HATs). It links to various light chains via disulfide bonds, enabling cell surface expression and basolateral localization of the transporter complex in polarized epithelial cells. CD98 interacts with beta1 integrins to increase their affinity for ligands and is involved in cell fusion and activation. It plays roles in regulation of cellular differentiation, growth, and apoptosis.
