Target Information

The p95 gene (identical to NBS1 and nibrin) is part of the hMre11/hRad50 double-strand break repair complex. This complex is associated with Nijmegen breakage syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by increased cancer incidence, cell cycle checkpoint defects, and sensitivity to ionizing radiation. It establishes a direct molecular link between double-strand break repair and cell cycle checkpoint functions.
