Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes CD73, a 70 kDa GPI-anchored 5'-nucleotidase expressed predominantly on the surface of T and B cell subsets, follicular dendritic cells, and endothelial cells.
Target Information
CD73 (Ecto-5'-nucleotidase, 5'-ribonucleotide phosphohydrolase) catalyzes the conversion at neutral pH of purine 5'-mononucleotides to nucleosides, with AMP as the preferred substrate.
It is a dimer of two identical 70 kDa subunits attached to the plasma membrane via a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol linkage.
CD73 serves as a marker of lymphocyte differentiation, and its deficiency is associated with various immunodeficiency diseases.
Defects in the CD73 gene can lead to calcification of joints and arteries, and intestinal tuberculosis.
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms of CD73 have been identified.
