Description:
The HIP1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD42b (platelet gpIb), a 135 kDa transmembrane protein.
Applications Reported:
HIP1 antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of human platelets. Recommended usage is 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Fluorochrome Characteristics:
Super Bright 702 is a tandem dye excited by the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 702 nm. Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass. Ensure instrument compatibility.
Staining Recommendations:
When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific interactions.
Light Sensitivity:
Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and samples from light.
Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark. Clone-specific performance should be verified empirically.

Target Information
CD42b is a platelet activation marker involved in coagulation and platelet aggregation. It forms part of the GPIb-IX-V receptor complex, which mediates platelet adhesion to thrombogenic surfaces via von Willebrand factor (VWF). CD42b also interacts with thrombin, coagulation factors XI and XII, TSP-1, integrin Mac-1, and P-selectin. It is expressed on platelets and bone marrow megakaryocytes. Mutations in CD42b are associated with Bernard-Soulier syndrome and platelet-type von Willebrand disease.
