Product Specific Information

The 18d3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD94, a 70 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the C-type lectin superfamily. CD94 forms heterodimers with NKG2 and is expressed on NK cells, a subset of T cells, and NKT cells, playing an important role in adhesion and activation of NK lineage cells.
DBA/2J mice are naturally CD94-deficient and lack cell-surface CD94/NKG2A receptors, even on neonatal NK cells.

Applications Reported:
The 18d3 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended use ≤ 0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Careful titration is recommended for best assay performance.

Excitation: 488–561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Compatible Lasers: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Natural killer (NK) cells are a distinct lineage of lymphocytes that mediate cytotoxic activity and cytokine secretion upon immune stimulation.
CD94 (KLRD1) is a type II membrane protein preferentially expressed on NK cells, forming heterodimers with NKG2 family members.
Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
