PA1-026A detects FK506 binding protein 12 kDa (FKBP12) in human and mouse tissues.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation applications.
In Western blot, this antibody detects a 12 kDa FKBP12 protein from rat heart homogenate.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal residues G(1) V Q V E T I S P G D G R(13) of human FKBP12.
The immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-012) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.

Target Information

FKBP12 is a member of the immunophilin protein family, involved in immunoregulation and protein folding/trafficking.
It functions as a cis-trans prolyl isomerase binding FK506 and rapamycin, and interacts with multiple intracellular signaling proteins including type I TGF-beta receptor.
It also associates with intracellular calcium release channels and contributes to the formation of multi-protein complexes such as the skeletal muscle ryanodine receptor.
In mouse, deletion of the homologous gene causes congenital heart disorder known as noncompaction of left ventricular myocardium.
