Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes are divided into NAD(+)-dependent and NADP(+)-dependent subclasses.
IDH1 is a NADP(+)-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase located in the cytoplasm and peroxisomes, containing the PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting signal sequence.
It plays a role in NADPH regeneration for intraperoxisomal reductions and cytoplasmic NADPH production.
