Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
eIF4E participates in various cellular processes such as translational efficiency, splicing, mRNA stability, and RNA nuclear export.
All eukaryotic mRNAs are capped at their 5′ ends with the 7-methylguanosine structure (m7GpppX).
EIF4E is a eukaryotic translation initiation factor directing ribosomes to the cap structure of mRNAs.
It exists as a 24-kDa polypeptide in free form or as part of the EIF4F complex.
EIF4E is the rate-limiting component in the mRNA-ribosome binding step of protein synthesis.
Other EIF4F subunits include EIF4A (50 kDa, ATPase/RNA helicase) and EIF4G (220 kDa).
