Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The PLAU gene encodes a serine protease involved in extracellular matrix degradation, tumor cell migration, and proliferation.
A polymorphism in this gene is associated with late-onset Alzheimer’s disease and reduced fibrin-binding affinity.
This protein converts plasminogen to plasmin by cleaving an Arg-Val bond. Plasmin subsequently cleaves PLAU at a Lys-Ile bond, forming a two-chain derivative (HMW-uPA) connected by a disulfide bond.
HMW-uPA can be further processed into LMW-uPA, which remains proteolytically active but does not bind the uPA receptor.
Alternative splicing results in multiple isoforms.
